Electric actuators for nuclear power plants

Description

Engine
Electric drives “SCHIEBEL” are equipped with DC or AC asynchronous motors with squirrel cage or phase rotor. Attaching particular importance to the selection of electric motors for electric drives, a special department of SCHIEBEL Antriebstechnik GmbH regularly evaluates promising developments in the industry and uses them when creating new models. When completing the equipment, electric motors are used that have the best technical characteristics and meet the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The company “SCHIEBEL Antriebstechnik GmbH” has the ability to supply electric drives for specific technical and operational requirements of the Customer. This takes into account the temperature range of the place of operation, the requirements for work in explosive atmospheres and other necessary conditions.

Reducer

Gearboxes are used to convert a high angular speed of rotation of an electric motor into a low speed on the output shaft and increase the torque on the executive links of production mechanisms or pipeline fittings.

Company
SCHIEBEL Antriebstechnik GmbH uses gearboxes with one or more mechanical transmissions. The supplied gearboxes have already proven themselves as highly reliable equipment that combines the optimal ratio of the main characteristics: efficiency, gear ratio, transmitted power, maximum angular speeds of shafts, number of driven and driven shafts, types and number of gears and stages.
Gearboxes are classified according to the types of mechanical transmissions, according to the type of housing, according to the cooling method, according to the types of bearings used, according to rotation speeds, gear ratio and transmitted (converted, distributed) power.

Switches along the way and the moment
Limit switches and torque switches are one of the components to which special attention is paid in the production of SCHIEBEL Antriebstechnik GmbH electric drives. The main criteria are quality, reliability and reliability. Limit and torque switches are used to fix the working body of the electric drive in the specified end positions and signal the achievement of the working body of the specified limit positions, which is necessary for implementation of remote control.

Handwheel

Electric actuators of SCHIEBEL Antriebstechnik GmbH are equipped with reliable manual overrides designed for manual mechanical control of regulating bodies of production mechanisms or pipeline valves in case of emergency power outage, adjustment of the electric actuator or in other cases requiring operational personnel intervention. Handwheels are available in two versions – top and side. When
Design must consider the availability of a handwheel. If the location of the electric drive is close to the ceiling, use the lateral execution of the control element, against the wall – the upper one. The handwheel is used in cases when the intervention of the operating personnel is required in the technological process. Such a case may be a failure of the control unit, a temporary interruption of the power supply or the need to change the flow rate of the controlled medium, etc. Handwheels are also used to limit the stroke of the actuator stem in the absence of limit stops.
Handwheels are designed so that the stem moves downward when the handwheel is rotated clockwise, upward when rotated counterclockwise.

Housing

In series production, standardized cast gearbox housings are widely used. Most often in heavy industry and mechanical engineering, casings are used from cast iron, less often from cast steels. When it is required to lighten the structure as much as possible, the housings are made of light alloys.
